Attorneys

Valerie Barton is a highly credentialed corporate attorney with real-world managerial and finance experience.  Valerie’s practice includes the negotiation of stock/asset acquisitions, mergers, debt/equity financing transactions, business start-up activities and the resolution of business disputes.  She assists clients in decision making for all stages of business growth, from the preparation of initial business plans to the consummation of exit strategies. 

Valerie studied at the University of Warwick in the United Kingdom as an Exchange Scholar for two years before completing her Bachelor of Arts in History at the University of South Carolina.  She continued on at USC and obtained her Master of International Business, then later graduated in the top 10% of her class from Emory University School of Law. 

Now a passive investor, Valerie was the previous Owner/Manager of Garden*Hood, LLC located in Grant Park. Prior to her horticultural business venture, Valerie was a Senior Corporate Associate at Lock Lord Bissell & Liddell LLP.
